At the crossroads of Europe and Africa, surrounded by Mediterranean waters and opening onto the vastness of the Atlantic ocean, Morocco lies as a wonderland for nature lovers. Traces of the past still live on, since pre-Roman and Roman, Phoenician, ancient and prehistoric, including traces of dinosaurs or rupestrian. Morocco is also a country blessed with a unique culture shaped by native Berbers, indelible Arabic, African & European influences.
The land is intensely exotic, with a variety of experiences to offer. It is a kaleidoscope of intricate architecture, vibrant colors, incredible flavors and buzzing markets at every turn as you wander around souks, or relax in a hammam, or sip traditional mint tea in a street-side cafe.
Its cities hold plenty of heritage sites, such as Marrakech’s Bahia Palace of Majorelle Garden, Casablanca’s Hassan the second Mosque (the largest religious monument in the Muslim world after Saudi Arabia’s Mecca), Mohammed the fifth’s Mausoleum in Rabat, and Fez’ Al Qarawiyyin University (the very first university in the world).
In addition to its cities, and as soon as you travel a few miles away, you will find a different facete of Morocco : Bedwin tribes inhabit the golden Sahara sands, Berber tribes live in the Atlas regions and subsist on farming produce grown in the plains of the Mountains alongside traditional rearing of cattle for dairy, egg, meat and whool consumption. Around Essaouira, Taghazout and elsewhere on the Atlantic coast, clear blue waves lap miles of coastline creating a surprising surfer’s paradise.
Moreover, Morocco is well known for its hospitality and knows how to do luxury, whether you prefer to stay in a plush new hotel or a riad full of character, you can experience what the country has to offer without compromising on comfort and relaxation.
